Join us as Program Manager Citizen Science for 16 hours per week (0,42 fte). As Program Manager, you will play a leading role in setting up and coordinating the Citizen Science Program.
This program engages diverse communities - often underrepresented in scholarly research - in the collection, processing, analysis and presentation of heritage collections and other resources for historical and anthropological research. The goal of the program is to work with these partners to achieve inclusive research in which diverse voices are heard and whose results are accessible to a wide audience.
The three research institutes of the KNAW Humanities Cluster (the International Institute of Social History, the Huygens Institute and the Meertens Institute) will each set up their own research theme within this program. In the research process, various forms of co-creation will be used to arrive at one or more fitting methods of Citizen Science.
This is what you will do
- Create synergy and co-creation processes among the various research themes, in collaboration with the researchers and community liaisons of the three research institutes.
- Coordinate meetings, brainstorming sessions and events within and across research themes.
- Actively plan and monitor program progress, identify problems and propose and implement timely solutions.
- Document best practices to involve community groups in research.
- Establish a mentoring network of heritage sector partners to advise on the program.
- Report to the steering committee and ensure structured progress of the program.
This is what we offer
- A challenging and socially relevant position in an academic environment.
- The salary amounts to a minimum of €3,378 and a maximum of €5,331 gross per month for full-time employment (scale 10 of the Collective Labor Agreement of Dutch Universities/KNAW). - A one-year appointment with the possibility of extension until the end of the program (max. 3 years).
- Embedding in a research institute and close collaboration with scientists and community partners.
- Space to contribute innovative ideas and experiment with inclusive research models.
- Access to a wide network of experts and stakeholders in the heritage sector.
This is what we ask
- Experience in building networks within/between different groups in the community.
