Communications Advisor DANS

Are you a hands-on communications advisor with strong writing skills in both Dutch and English, and do you know how to boost online visibility? We're looking for someone who works independently, switches gears easily and picks things up quickly. Social media, content creation and clear communication come naturally to you.

At DANS, you’ll be working in a scientific environment focused on making research data reusable — contributing to Open Science and FAIR data. Your work will have real impact.

To strengthen our Communications team, we are looking for a:

Communications Advisor
38 hours per week (1 FTE)

What will you be doing?
You’ll manage and create content for various channels, such as social media, the website and our newsletter. You write and edit clear and accessible texts in both Dutch and English – even when it comes to complex, data-related topics. You advise on and contribute to the effective use of communication tools such as CMS platforms, social media and SEO/SEA. You’ll also support internal communications, helping to keep colleagues informed and engaged. You work independently, stay on top of tasks, and maintain oversight. Together with colleagues both within and outside the communications team, you help strengthen DANS’ visibility.

What will you bring to the table?
-3 to 5 years of experience in a communications role, preferably with coordinating responsibilities;

-Excellent writing and editing skills in both Dutch and English (with at least one language at C2 level and the other at B2 level);
-Proven experience in deploying communication strategies and managing multiple content channels;
-Experience with CMS platforms (preferably WordPress and LaPosta), improving SEO/SEA performance, and working with web analytics (e.g. Matomo);
-You are structured, precise and proactive in your approach.
